The Knox King Cake Couple’s story

Chris and Amanda moved to Knoxville, TN in 2017 by way of a couple places. Amanda grew up moving around the Jefferson, Orleans and St Tammany Parish areas while Chris was reared as a corn loving rural Indiana Hoosier. After college Chris moved to New Orleans with Amanda and then spent time in South Carolina, back to Indiana and finally Tennessee where we have been for 7 years and have no intention of leaving.
We have an affinity for cooking and baking. After moving to the Knoxville area, we recognized a bit of a dearth of traditional King Cake options. We would typically order from New Orleans staples like Haydels, Manny Randazzos or Duong Phuong (if we were lucky) to satiate our King Cake needs. We paid a decent chunk of change for the privilege.
That is- until we started just baking them ourselves.
We started Knox King Cake Couple to fill a very small niche in the East TN area- made even smaller by the fact we are home bakers. If you haven’t had the chance to ever try a King Cake – give us a try. We make a strong faithful attempt to recreate what you get in New Orleans right here in Knoxville.
Our approach
We operate under the Tennessee Food Freedom Act of 2022. This lets people like you and me sell food out of our home-based kitchens to other people without a license given we follow the rules! Rest assured you will know exactly what goes into your King Cake and that it may contain allergens (because I dont want to go to jail for making King Cake). You can reference this statute here: Tennessee Food Freedom Act (tn.gov)
Place an order here. You can pick up your King Cake or we can meet somewhere in the Knoxville area.
